KISS frontman Paul Stanley reflected on his thoughts about Tesla CEO and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk‘s recently purchasing Twitter for $44 billion on his Twitter account.
A short time ago, Musk became Twitter’s biggest shareholder after having a 9 percent stake in the social media platform. Then, the businessperson stated that he didn’t want only to have a seat on the board. He wished to buy Twitter and made his offer to the platform’s authorities.
On Monday, they accepted Musk’s offer of $44 billion for $54.20 a share, which made Twitter a private company. It was one of the largest deals about a social media company, and Musk announced it with a tweet in which he emphasized the importance of free speech.
However, some users have doubts about the people who will speak freely, even if it’s full of hatred, discrimination, or false information. In addition, the others criticized Musk for not using this amount of money for better causes, as Stanley stated.
In his recent tweet, the frontman stated that he didn’t understand why Musk spent billions of dollars to own a social media platform when he could fund scientific research for cancer and initiations to stop hunger in the world. So, Stanley doesn’t support this deal, considering the ongoing suffering of people.
Stanley’s tweet read:
“I may be missing something (please tell me). Rather than funding a personal acquisition, wouldn’t our world be better advanced by using far less than 44 billion dollars to eradicate world hunger? Cure cancer? The list is long & the possibilities endless.”
