Ozzy Osbourne’s manager and wife, Sharon Osbourne, who has stuck with him throughout his career, recently talked about how the cancel culture affected her career in the United States.
Sharon married Ozzy Osbourne in 1982 after meeting him through her father, who was managing Black Sabbath. After Ozzy was fired from the band, Sharon took his responsibilities and became his solo act manager. Sharon’s efforts justify the success Ozzy has in the metal world, who made sure he was never off the headlines.
A couple of months ago, Sharon had an unfortunate incident during one of the episodes of CBS’ The Talk, a morning program where the hosts talk about popular titles live on TV. She received a backlash for allegedly supporting a friend who made racist comments and even faced death threats. After the incident, she abruptly left the show and decided to move back to the UK.
Osbourne recently talked about a dry time in her career when there weren’t any TV offers in the US. While in England and Australia, her career was still running smoothly; it wasn’t the same in America. Hence, she decided to move back to the UK for herself.
Here is how she described that moment in her career:
“My phone as far as my TV career here was non-existent, not one call. Nothing. In England and Australia, it never changed. Here it was like I was dead.
Everybody’s scared of saying something wrong that somebody would take and sell. It’s no way to bloody live. I don’t want it. I don’t need it. It’s just our time to go home.“
Aside from her ventures with Ozzy in terms of managing his music, Sharon is also a reality TV star who made her family show, The Osbournes, and she was a judge in highly recognized shows like X-Factor and America’s Got Talent. Born in England, Sharon established a successful career in America.
