During an interview with Andy Hall from the Iowa radio station, Skid Row’s guitarist Dave Sabo expressed that Scorpions are an underrated band.
Scorpions have an important place in the rock music scene with hard rock, heavy metal, and glam metal sounds. They are one of the best-selling hard rock and heavy metal bands, as they have sold more than 100 million albums so far.
As a result of being a prominent figure in the music scene, they worked with numerous musicians. In the past months, it was announced that Scorpions would do headlining show in Zappos Theatre starting in March 2022. Skid Row was declared as their special guest for the show.
Skid Row’s icon Dave Sabo expressed his admiration for Scorpions in a recent interview. Even though they are one of the most influential rock bands, it is unbelievable they haven’t been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. According to him, they deserve to be there because of the success they have gained for years.
Dave Sabo said in the interview:
“It’s criminal. It’s absolutely criminal. They have blazed the path for so many bands. And so many people probably don’t even realize it, but they have been such a huge influence on so much music that is contemporary today. Their songwriting, their hooks. They’re just undeniable.
Their musicianship is always undeniable. And yes, it’s criminal that they’re not in the Hall Of Fame; it’s absolutely ridiculous. They should be heralded, not only for their body of work but just how amazing of a band they’ve continued to be for decades.”
Dave Sabo especially mentioned in the same interview that Scorpions are very successful in their creation of music. According to Sabo, the band didn’t receive enough attention, even though it is one of the most successful groups he has ever seen. Sabo stated they were so perfect at the festivals that other bands had to do their best.
Dave Sabo continued in the same interview:
“They’re masters at their craft; they always have been. They’re one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen. Their abilities are unbelievable, I think, underrated. If you watch them play, they’re an absolute machine. It’s incredible. I’ve never seen them where they haven’t been great, never.
From playing the Moscow Music Peace Festival in 1989 to playing in Vegas with them now in 2022, they’re always great because they’re dedicated to their craft. They’re great musicians, great singers, great performers. So every night that we go out there, we know that we have to be on top of our game if we’re going to be in the same arena as them.”
