Wes Borland - Limp Bizkit Might Work on New Album Later in 2022

Limp Bizkit just dropped their latest album Still Sucks this past fall, but the rockers are apparently on a creative high. Guitarist Wes Borland thinks the band might start working on another new album later in 2022.

Still Sucks served as Limp Bizkit's first studio album in a decade. Its predecessor, Gold Cobra, came out in 2011, and the follow-up was initially set to be titled Stampede of the Disco Elephants. They released a couple of singles between 2012 and 2014, but the album never full came to fruition. Instead, they debuted the song "Dad Vibes" at Lollapalooza in 2021, and Fred Durst revealed a new aesthetic to match the track's title.

But, according to Borland's recent interview with PRS Guitars, we likely won't have to wait another decade for Still Sucks' successor.

"I’m so thrilled to be able to finally add new material to our set. I mean, we already switch our set around every night and make changes and additions to it while we’re in the middle of shows, but to actually add new material (not covers, or deep cuts off of older albums that we haven’t played in a long time for example: we recently knocked the dust off of ‘Nobody Loves Me’ from our first album) has been a treat for me personally. The older songs are so hardwired into my brain that it’s nice to kind of wake up the mental muscles that are in charge of handling new data," the guitarist enthused.

"Now that Still Sucks has kind of cleared our pipes, I feel that the camaraderie and creativity within the group is at an all-time high. I wouldn’t be surprised if a new album is in the works shortly after our 2022 touring concludes. Anything is possible," he added.

Another potential upcoming musical endeavor for the rocker is the "condensing" of bits of Goatslayer's 23 albums into a 3-hour Greatest Hits released... which he thinks no one will want to hear regardless.

Limp Bizkit's 2022 Still Sucks tour kicks off April 28 in Tampa, Florida. At a festival performance in Mexico earlier this year, Durst debuted yet another new look, so we'll have to wait and see whether he keeps it for the remainder of their tour dates this year. Check them out here.
