Former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy recently shared a post on his Instagram account to announce upcoming Transatlantic Tour dates. Also, the musician stated that there would be a three-hour epic progressive show.

The multinational progressive rock supergroup, Transatlantic’s starstudded lineup, Neal Morse, Roine Stolt, Pete Trewavas, and Portnoy, formed the band in 1999. Even though they disbanded in 2002, they reunited in 2009 and continued their projects and live performances.

The band released their latest and fifth studio album entitled ‘The Absolute Universe’ on February 5, 2021, but they couldn’t have a chance to promote it with a tour because of COVID-19 restrictions. Then, Portnoy revealed that their new tour would begin on April 15, 2022, and Transatlantic would also appear on MorseFest.

Portnoy promised three hours of performance for their live concerts in his IG post and added that they would only perform in the given cities. Therefore, the drummer asked their fans not to call out them for coming to their towns. He revealed it could be the supergroup’s last tour, so the fans shouldn’t miss this opportunity.

Portnoy’s IG post read:

“The gang’s all here, and rehearsals have begun! (Our heads are already ready to explode with the amount of music we have to rehearse!) It’s an insane 3-hour show of Epic Progressive (That’s just the normal shows. MorseFest weekend will clock in close to 5 hours of music!)

The long-awaited Transatlantic tour kicks off this Friday. We are finally going to play The Absolute Universe Live On Stage after having begun the album all the way back in 2019 Before COVID.

Because it was already hard enough to align our schedules even to get these limited dates scheduled, these are the only dates we will be doing in support of ‘The Absolute Universe.’ Please don’t bother posting ‘Come to _____’ in the comments. So if we’re not hitting your city or country, it may be worth your while to travel to us to catch one of these special shows!”

He continued:

“It’s been eight years since Transatlantic toured, and honestly, there’s no guarantee when or even if we’ll ever tour again. So you’ll want to get your tickets and take the opportunity to see us fly while you can!
