Slipknot is teasing something they're calling Knotverse. The tease comes in the form of a video on Slipknot's Twitter, captioned "probably nothing…" that showcases the band's Knotfest logo that glitches into a new Knotverse logo as "742617000027" off the 1999 self-titled album plays.
The likelihood of this being a new album feels pretty low considering The Sandbox also seems to be in on the tease. The Sandbox is a "virtual gaming world where players can build, own, and monetize their gaming experiences" connected to the metaverse concept whose Twitter is teasing very much the same thing, though using the track "(515)" off Iowa instead.
It's worth noting that Avenged Sevenfold bought digital "land" in The Sandbox in 2021 that came with its own exclusive premium NFTs. So a partnership between Slipknot and The Sandbox isn't all that farfetched, but still – does all of this have anything to do with the new Slipknot album on the horizon? I guess we'll see.
