Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready and former Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil recently gave an interview to Spin to predict the 2022 Major League Baseball Season.

The 2022 Major League Baseball season began on April 7 and will end on October 5. Although a lockout delayed the start of the season, Major League Baseball Players Association and the league reached a deal and scheduled the opening day for April 7.

In 2021, most of the season featured a minimum number of fans attending. Still, as the pandemic restrictions are eased, and the coronavirus loosens its effect in all parts of the world, fans expect things to be back to normal for this year’s season.

In an interview with Spin, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready and Soundgarden’s Kim Thayil revealed their predictions about the season. McCready stated that he hopes the Mariners will have better luck this year than in 2021, with more wins.

Moreover, McCready added that he expects to see the Mariners win games by scoring more runs more often than by getting some walk-off wins. His fellow musician Kim Thayil also predicted that the Mariners would win at least 95 games. He then stated that he expects to see big numbers from this year’s lineup.

In the interview with Spin, Mike McCready said the following:

“It’s reasonable to hope and think the Mariners will have a better run differential than in 2021. In theory, this should lead to more wins! But because the M’s were one of the most ‘clutch’ teams in league history last season, we’ll likely see some sort of regression in that category. So I expect to see the M’s win games the more traditional way by scoring more runs more often than getting walk-off wins.”

Kim Thayil also stated:

I see Seattle Mariners winning at least 95 games. Barring serious injuries, I expect to see big numbers from this lineup. The potential is exciting to anticipate. I hope we can stay healthy and get strong seasons from Kyle Lewis and Mitch Haniger, as well as a successful and healthy return for Evan White, 2020’s Gold Glove first baseman.”

So, it appears that both Mike McCready and Kim Thayil support the Seattle Mariners for this season, and they expect to see more wins from the team than the previous year.
