During Sepultura’s North America tour that had to be postponed several times before, bad news came from the band. Drummer Eloy Casagrande announced on his official Instagram that he could not go on the tour because of his broken leg.
Sepultura released their fifteenth album named ‘Quadra’ on February 20, 2020, a significant record with its unique concept. They planned a North America tour to promote the album in Spring 2020. However, the pandemic occurred and suddenly changed the plans.
Although the band announced the new tour dates as between March and April 2021, the shows were postponed to an unknown date because of the pandemic again. However, Sepultura informed the audience that they would hit the road in any way. Later on, in the summer of 2021, Sepultura announced that the tour would begin on March 3, 2022, in Ace of Spades in Sacramento.
In a recent post, Eloy Casagrande announced on his Instagram that because he broke his leg the previous day falling from the stage, so he could not continue the tour. Casagrande added that while he would be in Brazil for recovery, Bruno Valverde would continue as the drummer for the upcoming performances. Eloy asked for support from the fans as he finished his words.
Eloy Casagrande wrote these words under the post:
“It is with deep sadness that I announce that I have unfortunately broken my right leg. Yesterday, at the El Paso show, during the break between songs, I ended up falling off the stage and fracturing my tibia and fibula. I’m going back to Brazil to start the recovery. I’ll see you soon! For the next shows, I will be replaced by my friend and an amazing drummer, Bruno Valverde. More news is coming soon. I ask for your support.”
