Pasadena City Officials Confirm Performance Stage At New Public Park To Be Named After VAN HALEN

According to ABC7, fifty years after Van Halen formed in Pasadena, CA the city is paying tribute to the legendary rock band. The city plans to name the stage at a new park under construction the Van Halen Stage.

The city of Pasadena is building a new 1-acre park at 701 East Union Street between El Molino and Oak Knoll avenues, to be named after science-fiction writer Octavia Butler.

The city held public outreach to solicit suggestions for the name of the new park, with the most popular suggestions being for Eddie Van Halen and Butler. Ultimately, city officials recommended naming the park for Butler and the performing stage not just for Eddie, but the entire band.

Construction on the park is expected to be completed this summer.

Professor Of Rock recently released a new video along with the following message:

"In 1978, Van Halen launched their first album featuring a hellish classic rock tempest that crushed the status quo, and introduced a superstar musician for the ages, one Eddie Van Halen, as well as the great frontman David Lee Roth. We present to you the saga of Van Halen’s 'Runnin With The Devil' and 'Eruption', the greatest two-sided single of the late 70s."
