Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho recently joined Loudwire Nights for an interview and claimed that he would be pretty sad if AC/DC came forward and made remarks about the global coronavirus pandemic.

Some musicians use their music to express their thoughts about the system or spread messages about social, cultural, or political issues in the rock music scene. However, others choose to make music for rock and roll and stay away from touching upon these matters.

Formed in 1999, the heavy metal band Fozzy is among the latter. They prefer not to cover political or social subjects in their music and focus on making feel-good rock songs. In a recent interview with Loudwire Nights, Chris Jericho revealed why Fozzy prefers doing this.

Chris Jericho stated that Fozzy is the wrong band if one looks for political subjects in music. He then said they have never been a political band, and Fozzy has never been that type of a band that incorporates those issues in the music they make.

Jericho then mentioned famous rock and metal bands like Rush, Iron Maiden, Metallica, and AC/DC. Moreover, he revealed that he would be despondent if he ever heard AC/DC talking about COVID as one doesn’t want to involve such matters in rock and roll.

As reported by Loudwire, Chris Jericho told Loudwire Nights the following:

“You have the wrong band if you’re looking for those subject matters in our music. We do not ever, nor have we ever, been a political band. Fozzy’s never been that type of platform.

I mentioned Rush earlier, Iron Maiden, Metallica, AC/DC — if I ever heard AC/DC talking about COVID, I would f*cking be so sad. You don’t really want that in your rock ‘n’ roll.”

Although Jericho reveals that this is Fozzy’s stance, he states that their upcoming album ‘Boombox’s tone reflects the last few years affected by the pandemic and lockdown.
