Queen’s Brian May and Ozzy Osbourne recently took their social media accounts to offer their condolences following Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins‘ untimely passing.

After working with Alanis Morissette, Taylor Hawkins joined Foo Fighters in 1997. Apart from playing drums in the band, he also sang the vocals, played guitar and piano, and co-wrote songs on the band’s every album following their third record.

In a recent tweet they posted on their official Twitter account, Foo Fighters announced that Taylor Hawkins passed away at 50. His cause of death is yet unknown, but the band’s surviving members considered it as ‘tragic and untimely.’

It’s no doubt that this tragic news devastated Foo Fighters members and their fanbase. Moreover, many musicians in the rock scene also shared the same feelings. Recently, Brian May of Queen and Ozzy Osbourne also offered their condolences on their social media accounts.

Ozzy Osbourne stated that Taylor Hawkins was a great person and a fantastic musician in his tweet. He then said his heart, love, and condolences to Hawkins’ wife, children, family, band, and fans.

Ozzy Osbourne’s tweet read:

“Taylor Hawkins was truly a great person and an amazing musician. My heart, my love, and my condolences go out to his wife, his children, his family, his band, and his fans. See you on the other side.

On the other hand, Brian May shared a screenshot of the sad news on his Instagram as a post and revealed he could not believe this happened. Moreover, May said Hawkins was family to them — a friend, brother, and beloved child.

Brian May’s Instagram post read:

“No. It cannot be. Heartbroken. Taylor, you were family to us. Our friend, our brother, our beloved child. Bless you. We will miss you so bad. Bri.”
