Skid Row issued a statement and announced that Erik Grönwall would replace the former singer ZP Theart, who handled the vocals for the last few years.

After Sebastian Bach’s departure, the band continued with several lead vocalists, but none of their tenures lasted long. ZP Theart had joined Skid Row in 2016 after the departure of the previous vocalist Tony Harnell. He initially performed with the band as the touring vocalist, but later on, he became the official lead singer of the band.

Erik Grönwall rose to fame when he won the Swedish ‘Idol’ reality show. During one of the episodes, Grönwall also performed Skid Row’s ’18 And Life.’ After winning the show, he firstly continued as a solo artist until he joined H.E.A.T. as the lead vocalist. He contributed to the band’s four albums but left in late 2020.

In their recent statement, Skid Row revealed they parted ways with ZP Theart, and ex-H.E.A.T. vocalist Erik Grönwall will replace him as the lead singer. Grönwall became the fourth name since the departure of Sebastian Bach, who spent 16 years with the band.

The statement of Skid Row regarding their new lead singer follows:

“It’s a new era for Skid Row. With a new album, a new single, and a world tour, we’ve added a new voice. Welcome powerhouse vocalist Erik Grönwall, formerly from the band H.E.A.T. from Sweden.”

As the band revealed during an appearance on Eddie Trunk’s Trunk Nation, Grönwall will continue his music career as the lead vocalist of Skid Row. He will make his recording debut with Skid Row in the band’s upcoming album, ‘The Gang’s All Here.’ The musician also shared a post on his Instagram account and wrote that he’s the band’s new frontman.

Erik Grönwall’s Instagram post read:

“Ladies and gents. I hereby declare the circle of all f*cking circles complete. You’re looking at the new singer of Skid Row.”
