Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker recently gave an interview to Revolver and talked about the widely-circulated photo of his girlfriend, Kourtney Kardashian. When she was spotted wearing a Cannibal Corpse shirt, the couple caused an uproar on social media.

In September 2021, someone took a picture of Barker and Kardashian while in Venice, showing Kourtney wearing a Cannibal Corpse long sleeve. Later on, it was learned that she borrowed the shirt from Barker’s closet, but she faced a severe backlash on social media due to her choice of apparel.

The harsh criticisms mostly came from metalheads, who slammed Kardashian for wearing a band’s shirt she knew almost nothing about as many people are opposed to this situation. Upon seeing the photo, former Cannibal Corpse lead singer Chris Barnes joined the lynching attempt and called the couple ‘posers’ via a post he shared on his Twitter account.

Travis Barker recently talked about the backlash his girlfriend faced during an interview and described it as ‘the lamest sh*t ever.’ The musician stood for Kourtney Kardashian over her Cannibal Corpse shirt by saying she wore it simply because she was cold.

The drummer explained that his girlfriend doesn’t claim that she is a big fan of the band to know all their songs, but he likes listening to Cannibal Corpse. He added that he is a massive fan of the band, and he has an extensive collection of Cannibal Corpse shirts and King Diamond and Slayer shirts in his wardrobe.

When asked about his girlfriend’s photograph, Travis Barker replied:

“To speak on that, that’s the lamest sh*t ever. Obviously, my fiancée doesn’t listen to Cannibal Corpse, but I do. I grew up loving them. For someone to mention that in a negative light, f*cking lame, you know? She’s wearing it because she’s cold. She’s not claiming she knows every song. But I do! I bought every album, and I learned how to play every album.

I grew up a punk-rock kid, but everything with punk rock. ‘I’m more punk than you,’ just f*ck all that. Be stoked that people are into music. Music is beautiful! It changes people’s lives. It creates the best memories. Just celebrate it, you know? I have a gang of Cannibal Corpse T-shirts.

I still love them. I have a gang of King Diamond T-shirts and rare Slayer shirts because I f*cking love those bands. I grew up on them. Even though I’m, you know, whatever the world wants to view me as, ‘Oh, that’s Blink-182’s drummer,’ actually that guy was playing in a garage with a bunch of speed-metal kids listening to D.R.I. and S.O.D. I enjoyed every f*cking minute of it.”
