Suicidal Tendencies bassist Roberto "Ra" Díaz is currently filling in for Korn's Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu out on the road with the Jonathan Davis-led alt-metal upholders. So when Díaz turned 38 on Tuesday (March 15), Korn celebrated by "pieing" him in the face with a birthday cake onstage at Giant Center in Hershey, Pa.

"BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!" Díaz subsequently said on social media, despite being covered in cake in an accompanying photo. He thanked Korn, their crew and the group's current tourmates, Chevelle and Code Orange, for "making this old man feel so special."

Near the bottom of this post, see footage of the birthday celebration courtesy of Díaz and a concertgoer.

According to Wikipedia, pieing or a "pie attack" is "the act of throwing a pie at a person. In pieing, the goal is usually to humiliate the victim while avoiding actual injury. … The pie is traditionally of the cream variety without a top crust, and is rarely if ever a hot pie."

But there was no embarrassment on Díaz's end with this pieing. Clearly, Korn's pie attack was a jokey show of camaraderie meant to thank the musician.

Korn's 14th album Requiem emerged last month, backed by the singles "Start the Healing," "Lost in the Grandeur" and "Forgotten." See their remaining dates with Chevelle and Code Orange below. Korn head to Europe for more shows this spring. Get concert tickets here.

In addition to his ongoing work with Suicidal Tendencies, Díaz frequently contributes to metal collaborations with members of Anthrax, FEVER 333 and Testament. See video from Díaz's first live show with Korn last year by clicking here.
