Well, Corey Taylor wasn't lying when he said Slipknot were going to be dusting off some older songs for their 2022 tour. During their opening show last night (March 16), the band played "Snuff" for the first time in nearly 10 years, and "Dead Memories" for the first time since 2016.

The 'Knot performed a 20-song set for the show, which took place in Fargo, N.D. Aside from the two aforementioned All Hope Is Gone tracks, they also played their latest single "The Chapeltown Rag," which was released in the fall.

"My friends — no, my bad — my fucking family, we are about to play you a song that we have not played live in 13 years. And I can count, on this hand, the amount of times that we played it live," Taylor announced to the crowd before playing "Snuff."

"And we have brought it out simply for you. So if you know it, help me sing."

Watch fan-filmed footage for both "Snuff" and "Dead Memories" below.

According to Setlist.fm, the last time Slipknot played "Snuff" was actually in August of 2012 at the Heavy Montreal festival. Taylor has played it a plethora of times during his solo shows since then, but this is the first time Slipknot have tackled the song live without late drummer Joey Jordison, who left the band in 2013, and tragically died in July of 2021.

"'Snuff' is probably is one of the [songs] that means the most to me now just because of the correlation between it and Paul [Gray]," Taylor told Kerrang! of the song. "Really, if Paul hadn't championed that song, I don't think we would have recorded it. But he loved it and saw the potential with it and really wanted us to do it. So now when I play it during my solo shows, that's who that's for. I try to do it as well as I can."

The first leg of Knotfest, which also features In This Moment and Wage War, continues tomorrow night (March 18) in Omaha, Neb. See the rest of the dates here.
