Van Halen’s former bassist and back vocalist and The Circle’s current band member Michael Anthony spotted performing a Van Halen classic ‘Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love’ in a recently released fan footage.

Michael Anthony had been in Van Halen from 1974 to 2006 and appeared on 11 albums with the band. After he left in 2006, Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang Van Halen replaced him on bass guitar until the band split up in 2020 permanently due to Eddie’s death.

Wolfgang Van Halen continued his musical journey with his band Mammoth WVH but refused to play Van Halen songs. While the fans thought it would have been a good idea to keep Van Halen’s legacy alive, Sammy Hagar and The Circle took this role upon themselves.

Michael Anthony is also in the current lineup of The Circle and is performing with Sammy Hagar in live shows. However, Hagar generally refuses to sing Van Halen songs from the David Lee Roth era and sticks with the ones they created while he was the vocalist from 1985 to 1996 and again from 2003 until 2005.

The supergroup is currently on tour and continues to perform Van Halen songs. Michael Anthony was spotted singing a David Lee Roth era song named ‘Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love’ on stage in recent fan footage. Anthony was a back vocalist in the band, but he took the lead for this song.

Though the Red Rocker refused to sing DLR era songs, even when performing with Van Halen, this was the only song he was okay with singing. It is also known as the band’s most heavy metal music. Hence, Sammy Haggar and Michael Anthony blasted their fans by reminiscing about their former band.
