The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has paid tribute to Australian cricket legend Shane Warne, following the news of his death at age 52. He shared a black and white photo of the sportsman and remembered his exceptional cricketing talent.
Being the greatest leg-spinner of all time, Shane Warne passed away on March 4, 2022, due to a suspected heart attack. Three of his friends found him unresponsive in a villa in Thailand. Although his friends and medical personnel made a considerable effort to revive him, Warne didn’t respond to the medical intervention.
It is publicly known that Mick Jagger is a huge cricket fan and appears in cricket games frequently. He even founded a company named Jagged Internetworks to produce and promote sports, including cricket events, online. Jagger got involved in charity work through cricket too. He has donated many times to Chance to Shine, which aims to get children involved in the game by organizing campaigns countrywide.
Following the news of Shane Warne’s sudden death, there was a flood of social media tributes from the cricket world, actors, and music legends sharing their memories with the star. Mick Jagger also took his Twitter account to pay his respects to the successful sportsman. The singer stated that he was totally devastated by Warne’s unexpected death and then praised his exceptional cricket skills by saying that he brought a lot of joy to the game and was the ‘greatest spin bowler ever.’
