Ex-Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy attended his former band's show at the Beacon Theatre in New York City last night, March 4. Portnoy reportedly got a shout out from vocalist James LaBrie from the stage as well, which is especially nice considering a few years ago their relationship didn't seem like it was the best. Blabbermouth also reports it is believed this is the first Dream Theater show Portnoy has attended since his departure from the band in 2010.
Still, it's not like Portnoy hasn't worked with his former bandmates over the years. He reunited with guitarist John Petrucci for his solo album in 2020, and with both Petrucci and keyboardist Jordan Ruddess for a new Liquid Tension Experiment album last year.
