Guns N’ Roses’ iconic guitarist Slash recently spoke about his side musical venture Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators and gave the reason why he’s trying to keep that band together even if he is currently in GN’R.

Slash is one of the most influential and prominent figures in the rock and roll world. Even though he rose to fame with Guns N’ Roses, he established a successful solo career, which became his safe haven each time he decided to take a break from GN’R. Besides going solo, he has also been involved in several other projects and formed the supergroup Velvet Revolver.

He began his solo career in 2009 by releasing a self-titled album. To support the album, he went on a tour between 2010 and 2011 by the vocalist Miles Kennedy on his side. After this tour, Slash continued working with Kennedy and the other members of the tour, Todd Kerns and Brent Fitz. They contributed to Slash’s second album in 2012 called ‘Apocalyptic Love,’ which became Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators‘ first album together.

In a recent interview with the guitarist, he mentioned why he would want to keep this band going even though he rejoined GN’R in 2016. He described Guns as an epic band that was different from anything else. However, working with the Conspirators is more down-to-earth and intimate with the audience, which seems to be an experience the guitarist is unwilling to give up.

Here is what he said about The Conspirators:

“Guns N’ Roses is this really big, epic kind of different of a thing, and it’s great, and I love it, but I’m keeping the Conspirators together because I love that down-to-earth, sort of toe-to-toe-with-the-audience kind of vibe.”

Hence, while still being present in GN’R, the guitarist is currently getting ready to tour with the Conspirators. Moreover, they released their new album called ‘4’ on February 11 this year and will be on tour supporting the album in small and intimate venues, precisely how the guitarist likes it.
