Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale was interviewed by Andy Hall and unveiled why the whole band, especially her and Arejay Hale, decided to stay in the hotel instead of sleeping in the bus that burned down because of an unknown reason.
The band started their tour with Evanescence as the co-headliners last year, and they also wanted to add a couple of new dates. Halestorm went to Worcester with their crew before their show on January 20, 2022. However, it turned into a nightmare for them.
They woke up at 3 am to find out their tour bus had burned down, but thankfully the Worcester fire department came there quickly and put out the fire. So it didn’t spread anywhere, and no one was on the bus. Also, their security Steve Barbola confirmed that it was empty and saved Lzzy Hale’s 1991 Les Paul Custom.
During her interview, Hale talked about the incident saying that they could have been on the bus and gotten hurt pretty badly by the fire, considering both her and her brother’s usual preference to sleep inside the bus. However, this time the other band members convinced Lzzy to stay in the hotel, and Arejay wanted to work out early.
The Halestorm singer detailed the night and stated that she was very worried about her bandmate and brother Arejay because he wasn’t with them during the night. It seems like Hale feels very lucky, and she added that they made a pact about not staying on the tour bus anymore.
In Hale’s words, she said:
“We are still talking about it. As Jack said, ‘What if it’s real?’ I mean myself and my little brother nearly always prefer sleeping inside the bus to sleeping in the hotel room. The only reason that I went up to the hotel room this time was that both my bass player and guitar player were like, ‘Hey, we’re going to inside, it has nice rooms.’ I said, ‘Awesome; I’ll come up.’
The only reason my little brother didn’t stay on the bus was he wanted to wake up and work out in the gym early. So it was like a weird thing. Basically, my little brother and I have made a pact that we will never do that again. It was scary. Our tour crew was waking everybody else and calling everybody on the phone.
The first question was, where is my little brother? because I haven’t seen him all day. He didn’t play dice with us, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, what if he’s still on the bus?’ Luckily we had locks and passwords, pain in the ass.”
