During his latest interview with Rolling Stone India, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash talked about the different projects he collaborated with famous artists and revealed the most interesting one according to him.

2013’s Ultra Music Festival took place between March 15–17, and March 22–24, in Miami, and its star-studded lineup consisted of Swedish House Mafia, Snoop Dogg, and The Weeknd. Surprisingly GN’R’s icon Slash was there to join a DJ during his performance for the festival.

Slash performed with DJ and producer Chuckie and DJ BetaTraxx at the festival, and the DJ revealed they were working on a new song. Shortly after the announcement, they released ‘Rocktronica,’ which can be considered as Slash’s first collaboration with an EDM musician.

Electronic dance music was a very new genre for Slash, but it gave him a unique perspective, and he learned a lot thanks to this adventurous collaboration. Slash stated that it was the craziest thing he had done so far. The GN’R icon added that he believes he could have done it without EDM collaboration. Slash also reminded the journalist that he worked with Michael Jackson for his eighth studio album ‘Dangerous’ and Alice Cooper for ‘Hey Stoopid.’

In Slash’s words, he stated:

I think the EDM thing was a stretch for me. I don’t think I was really that into it at the time. Having done it, I look back on it, and I probably could have done it without doing it.

However, it was an interesting learning experience. I learned a bit about the EDM world while I was doing it. Most of the other stuff that I get into it’s all music. It could be doing something like working with Michael Jackson is very different than if I’m working with Alice Cooper.

But it all is relevant. Right? It’s sort of easy to adapt my style into different styles. So we’ll see what comes up down the road. I haven’t done anything super crazy that I can think of besides the EDM thing.”
